Question
What resolution should I use for poster printing?
Answer
Set your design file to 300 DPI at the final print size for the sharpest result. That resolution keeps text and detail crisp even on large pieces.
| Poster size (inches) | Pixels at 300 DPI |
|---|---|
| 18 x 24 | 5,400 x 7,200 |
| 24 x 36 | 7,200 x 10,800 |
- If the file becomes unmanageably large, 200 DPI is acceptable for large-format posters viewed from a distance.
- Never go below 150 DPI, or you will see visible pixelation up close.
