What's the difference between mounted and unmounted posters?
Answer
The difference is the backing. An unmounted poster is paper only, while a mounted poster is laminated or bonded to a rigid board so it holds its own shape.
- Unmounted posters: printed on paper, flexible, rollable, and light. Easy to ship and store, inexpensive for covering walls and windows, and ideal when you plan to tape, pin, or frame them yourself.
- Mounted posters: adhered to a rigid backing such as foam board or gator board. They stay flat, resist curling, and stand upright on an easel or countertop without a frame or wall.
Mounted versions cost more up front, but they skip the framing expense and travel far better, which makes them a common pick for events, retail displays, and trade show booths.
