Both print in full color on 30mil white plastic at 2.125 by 3.375 inches, the size and thickness of a credit card, from 250 cards for $226.11, and both can add a lanyard slot punched along the 2.125 inch side for a vertical badge or the 3.375 inch side for a horizontal one.
Printed lanyard straps themselves are not a stock product in the catalog today. If an event needs printed straps as well as the cards, ask about them through Custom Projects before you plan the badge.
Upgrades a Paper Badge Cannot Take
The cards print on one side or both, with a UV gloss or silk laminated matte finish and 1/8 inch rounded corners. They can add foil stamping, a LoCo or HiCo magnetic stripe, a signature panel, a Code 128, Code 39, UPC-A or EAN-13 barcode with numbering, sequential numbers, a scratch-off PIN, or embossed numbers in 14pt or 18pt type with gold or silver tipping as an option.
That makes the same card work as a staff badge with a door-access stripe, a member card scanned at check-in, or a VIP pass numbered for each guest.
Setting Up a Badge Card
Decide the slot side first, since it sets whether the badge hangs portrait or landscape, and keep the name and photo clear of the slot. Set the file in CMYK at 300 DPI with text about 1/8 inch from the edge, and send a list for any numbering, barcodes or names. Check the free digital proof against the list before the run starts.
