What is debossing?

Debossing is the reverse of embossing. Instead of raising a design, a die presses it down into the paper to create a recessed impression, giving an understated, tactile detail that reads as quietly premium.

• Recessed effect: the design is pushed into the surface rather than raised above it.
• Best on thick stock: heavier papers hold a crisp, deep impression.
• The feel: subtle and elegant, often used blind for a refined tone-on-tone look.
