Question
What if I want to print with more than 4 colors?
Answer
Nearly all full-color printing is done with four process inks, so more than four colors is rarely needed in practice. The four inks combine to reproduce a very wide range of colors.
- In the real world, printing with more than four colors does not happen often.
- Like all other full-color printers, printing is done in CMYK, also known as 4-color process.
- Cyan, magenta, yellow, and black mix to create the full color range you see in the final print.
- Special effects such as spot gloss or foil are separate finishes, not extra process colors.
Build your artwork in CMYK and the four-color process will cover the vast majority of designs.
