Answer
Yes, you can place a frame or border around your image. It is strongly suggested that you avoid a thin border, because the standard cutting tolerance can make a narrow frame look uneven from one side to the other even when your file is perfectly centered.
- Go thick, not thin: a heavier border absorbs the small shift that happens during trimming, so the frame still looks balanced.
- Expect a cutting tolerance: pieces can move a hair during high-volume cutting, which is why a 1 or 2 point line rarely stays even.
- Keep the border off the trim line: pull the frame inward so it does not risk being clipped at the edge.
- Center with the safe zone in mind: keeping equal spacing inside the safe area gives the most forgiving result.
