Question
Can you print RGB colors?
Answer
No. Presses print in CMYK, so any artwork received in RGB color mode is automatically converted to CMYK before printing. Because RGB can describe bright colors that CMYK inks cannot reproduce, some tones shift during that conversion, and we cannot be responsible for color shifts that occur when a file is submitted in RGB.
- Design in CMYK: building your file in CMYK from the start lets you see print-accurate color and avoid surprises.
- Bright RGB tones shift most: vivid blues, greens, and oranges are the ones most likely to dull after conversion.
- Convert and correct yourself: switching to CMYK in your design app gives you control to adjust any color you dislike.
- Proof if color is critical: a hard-copy proof shows the true printed result before a full run.
