Question
If I upload a RGB profile, will the proof have pretty accurate colors to what will be printed?
Answer
All jobs are converted to CMYK before printing, and sometimes the conversion from RGB to CMYK can cause a color shift, but it is not on all colors. It is not possible to know until the conversion is done.
- Vivid blues, greens, and neon tones tend to shift the most, while many everyday colors stay close.
- Your monitor's calibration also changes how a color looks on screen, and we have no way of knowing how your monitor is calibrated.
- To keep the most control, build and convert your file to CMYK yourself before uploading.
If colors are important, we suggest ordering a hard copy color proof.
