Question
What is embossing?
Answer
Embossing presses paper between a die and a matching counter-die to push a design up above the surface. The result is a raised, three-dimensional shape you can feel as well as see.
- Raised effect: the design sits proud of the sheet for a tactile, dimensional look.
- Combinations: it can be paired with ink or foil, or left blind (uninked) for a subtle tone-on-tone effect.
- Best on: logos, monograms, and type on premium cards and covers.
