What file format should I use for my rubber stamp design?

A rubber stamp reproduces as solid ink on an uneven surface, so crisp, high-contrast artwork is everything. Vector files hold their edges at any size, which is why they are the preferred starting point.

• Best: vector files such as .AI, .EPS, or a high-resolution vector .PDF, which stay sharp at any scale.
• Acceptable: a .PNG or .JPG at 300 DPI or higher, with solid black artwork on a white background.
• Keep it bold: thin lines and tiny text can fill in or drop out once inked, so favor heavier strokes.
• One color: design in pure black and white, since a stamp lays down a single ink color.
