Question
Can I print an RGB file, or do I have to convert to CMYK?
Answer
You can submit an RGB file and the press will auto-convert it, but you give up control over how the colors shift. Converting to CMYK yourself lets you see and correct those shifts before anything prints.
- RGB is a screen color space with a wider gamut than print can reproduce.
- Bright blues, greens, and purples lose the most vibrancy in conversion.
- Convert to CMYK in your design software so you approve the printed colors, not the press.
