Question
Why do my proofs look pixelated when my original file is crisp?
Answer
If your source file is crisp but the proof looks pixelated, the softness usually comes from compression or a resolution issue somewhere between upload and proof generation, not from your design itself.
- Online proofs are rendered at a lower resolution to load quickly, so some sharpness is expected on screen.
- Very large files can be compressed during upload, which can soften the preview.
- If placed images were low-resolution at final size, that can carry into both the proof and the print.
Contact 4OVER4 support with your file details (resolution, format, color mode) so they can tell whether it is a proofing artifact or something to adjust before printing.
