Question
Can stencils be printed with designs that have isolated interior elements?
Answer
Stencils cannot include isolated interior elements. Any floating piece, like the closed center of certain letters, has nothing to hold it in place, so it will not exist in the finished stencil.
- Closed shapes, such as the inside of an O or A, create islands that fall out.
- Designs with these gaps come out incomplete or structurally weak.
- Bridges or connectors can keep interior pieces attached in many cases.
- Send your design file over to confirm whether it is suitable for stencil printing.
