Question
What image resolution do I need for my print order?
Answer
Print files need high-resolution images to look sharp. Low-resolution photos that look fine on screen can turn out blurry or pixelated once printed.
| Use | Recommended resolution |
|---|---|
| Print artwork | 300 DPI at final print size |
| Screen only | 72 DPI (not suitable for print) |
- Set images to 300 DPI at the actual size they will print.
- Avoid enlarging a small web image, since scaling up adds no real detail.
- Start from the original high-resolution file whenever possible.
If you cannot find a higher-resolution version, ask your printer's support team for guidance on your options before the job runs.
