Question
Will car magnets stick to fiberglass vehicle doors?
Answer
No. Magnetic signage needs a ferrous (steel or iron) surface to hold, and fiberglass has no magnetic pull at all, so a car magnet placed on a fiberglass door will simply slide off. The same is true for aluminum panels, plastic body kits, and carbon fiber.
Before you order, check what your door is actually made of:
- Steel doors: magnets hold well, which covers most standard sedans, trucks, and vans.
- Aluminum or fiberglass doors: magnets will not stick. You need an adhesive alternative.
- Curved or ribbed panels: even on steel, a flat magnet may lift at the edges, so keep placement to flat areas.
If your vehicle has non-metal doors, an adhesive vinyl decal is the better route. Contact support to talk through options that will stay put.
