What file format is required for Raised Spot UV business cards?

Raised Spot UV is a dimensional gloss effect, so the file that drives it has to be built as clean vector art. Raster (pixel) files do not carry the crisp edges the process needs, and the raised gloss will look ragged or drop out entirely.

• Build your artwork in a vector program such as Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, or Affinity Designer.
• Create a separate spot layer for the areas that should be raised, using solid 100% coverage so the machine reads a clean edge.
• Keep raised elements bold. Hairlines and tiny type below roughly 6pt may not hold the gloss.
• Convert live text to outlines so fonts do not shift or substitute.
• Export as a print quality PDF that keeps the vector paths intact rather than flattening to an image.

If you only have a raster logo, have a designer redraw it as vector before submitting, otherwise the spot UV cannot be applied accurately.
