Question

How much bleed do I need for a standard brochure?

Answer

Standard bleed for a brochure is 0.125 inch on all four sides of the flat, unfolded sheet. That extra margin of artwork gets trimmed away and guarantees no unprinted white edges show up after cutting.

  • Bleed: 0.125 inch (1/8 inch) all around
  • File example: a Letter brochure file should be 8.75 x 11.25
  • Safe zone: keep critical text and logos 0.125 inch inside the trim line
  • Why: cutting tolerances mean art must run past the edge to look clean
