An anniversary invitation is a flat card that asks guests to a wedding anniversary, a company anniversary or another milestone year. Milestone Anniversary Invitations: 25th, 40th, 50th and 60th

Each milestone has a traditional color, and this card's own stocks cover each one.

25th, silver

Keep the wording warm: the couple's names, twenty-five years, and an invitation to celebrate with them. Silver metallic pearl is the obvious stock, and the 5" x 7" gives a wedding photograph room to breathe; for a casual afternoon party, the 4.25" x 5.5" costs less per card.

40th, ruby

Forty years often reads as a family event, so let the hosts, perhaps the children, invite guests to honor their parents. Deep red type on white linen or cream uncoated carries the ruby convention without printing a ruby.

50th, gold

The most formal of the four: full names, the original wedding date and the new date, a start time and an RSVP deadline for a seated meal. Gold metallic pearl, or the 24pt ultra thick if the card should feel like an announcement the moment it is picked up. The 6" x 6" square suits a modern version.

60th, diamond

Say plainly if it is a family gathering, with a note about gifts if the couple would rather have none. A bright metallic pearl or soft touch reads as diamond without shouting, and a High Gloss UV Coating over a metallic stock is the loudest version.

What Sizes Do Anniversary Invitations Come In

Pick the size by what the card holds. The 4.25" x 5.5" default fits the names, the date and an RSVP line, the 5" x 7" takes a wedding photo, and the 6" x 6" square reads differently from the rectangles around it on a mantel. Those three are the only sizes offered.

What Paper Stocks and Finishes Can You Choose

Choose the stock by the anniversary's tone. The everyday 14pt or 16pt gloss and uncoated covers suit a casual party and carry a full color print well. Linen adds a woven texture you can feel, recycled kraft and cream uncoated read warm and natural, and the metallic pearls come in ice, champagne, silver and gold, beside a 10pt StarLustre platinum for a subtle shimmer. If guests will write on the card, pick an uncoated stock, since gloss and the High Gloss UV Coating resist pen. Put the dinner details and the RSVP on the back with 4/1 or 4/4, and keep the front for the names and the year.
