What file specifications are needed for hang tags?

Hang tag artwork should arrive as a print-ready PDF with the full specs noted so nothing is left to guesswork.

• Format: a print-ready PDF.
• Size: the finished dimensions, for example 2" x 2".
• Material: the stock, for example 14pt uncoated.
• Printing: the print sides, for example 4/0 for one side printed.
• Special options: any finishing, for example a 1/8" drill hole.
• Bleed: build the file at the required total size with bleed included, for example 2.45" x 4.25" for one common tag. Bleed is the extra image area trimmed off after cutting.
• Safe area: keep important text and logos safely inside the trim, away from the edges.
• Build sizes vary by product, so confirm the exact dimensions for your specific order and have your designer match the file to them.
