Question
How do I set up my design file for embossing?
Answer
Embossing is driven by a separate die layer that tells the press which areas to raise. Your artwork needs that layer built cleanly and aligned to your print file.
- Put the emboss areas on their own layer, filled a single solid color (usually 100% black).
- Align that layer perfectly over your print file so the raised areas land where you want them.
- Keep embossed elements bold. Very thin lines and tiny text do not hold a crisp raised edge.
- Download the product-specific template from 4OVER4.COM for exact dimensions and layer instructions.
