Do I need to design my file differently for edge painted products?

No. Your artwork setup is identical to any standard print order. The edge color is a separate finishing choice applied after printing and cutting, so it does not change how you build your file.
- Use proper full bleed so the design runs cleanly to the trim.
- Work in CMYK color mode at high resolution (300 DPI).
- Do not include the edge color anywhere in your design file.
- Select the edge color separately during checkout. 4OVER4.COM applies the edge painting after your card is printed and cut.
