Question

What type of files do you accept for CD Covers?

Answer

For CD covers we recommend a print-ready PDF, since that format locks in your fonts, colors, and layout so the file prints exactly the way you designed it. If a PDF is not convenient, we accept a few other common formats too.

  • PDF (preferred), print ready with fonts embedded or outlined
  • JPG, flattened at 300 DPI for crisp images
  • TIFF, high resolution and good for photo-heavy art
  • EPS, vector art with fonts converted to outlines

Whatever format you choose, build the artwork in CMYK at 300 DPI and add a 1/8 inch bleed so nothing important is trimmed at the edge.
