What file format and setup do I need for die-cut products?

Die-cut products are cut to a custom shape, so along with your artwork you need to supply a vector cut line that tells the machine where to trim. Accuracy here is what keeps the shape clean.

• Cut file: provide the die-cut shape as vector art, on its own layer.
• Alignment: make sure the cut lines are straight and properly registered to the design.
• Print spec: note whether it prints one side (4/0) or both sides (4/4), plus paper type and finish.
• Bleed: extend art past the cut line so no white edge appears on the shaped border.

Keeping the cut path as a single clean vector outline, rather than many overlapping segments, helps the shape trim exactly as drawn.
