Question

What's the difference between letterpress and debossing?

Answer

The key difference is ink. Letterpress presses an inked plate into the paper, so the impression and the color happen at the same time. Debossing presses an uninked die into the paper to create a blind, colorless indent.

Both give you a tactile, recessed result. Choose letterpress when you want color in the impression, and debossing when you want texture alone.
