Is thicker paper always better?

Not always. Thicker stock feels premium and durable, but the right thickness depends on what the piece needs to do. Matching thickness to function beats simply picking the thickest option.

• Thick stock (like 32pt): perfect for business cards and premium invitations where a hefty, luxurious feel makes an impression
• Thinner text-weight stock (80lb to 100lb): better for booklets, catalogs, and brochures that need to fold cleanly and mail affordably
• Very thick stock adds postage cost and will not fold well for multi-page pieces

So thicker is better for single, high-impact cards, but for anything that folds, binds, or mails in volume, a lighter stock is the smarter, more practical choice.
