Question

What should I do if I upload a corrected file but can't delete the original incorrect file?

Answer

You do not need to delete the original file to fix a mistake. Uploading a clearly labeled corrected version and pointing support to it is all it takes.

  • Label it: add an identifier such as "correct" or "FINAL" to the corrected filename.
  • Tell your agent: let your support agent know which file is the right one to use, and include your order and job details.
  • What happens: the file rep reviews the correct version for your proofs, and the old file is simply ignored. The most recent upload becomes the artwork of record.
  • Extra safety: if there is any doubt, support can place the order on hold until the correct file is confirmed, after which it re-enters the technical review queue for updated proofs.

A clear filename plus a one-line note to support removes any risk of the wrong file being printed, and approving the updated proof confirms the job prints from the corrected artwork.
