Common questions
How do I get a file ready for print?
Build it at the document size with bleed, keep text inside the safe margin, work in CMYK, and give it enough pixels for the finished size. These tools give you all four numbers.
How much bleed does my product need?
0.125 in on small-format work like cards and flyers, 0.25 in on large format. The bleed calculator reads the exact figure for the product you pick.
Will my image print sharp?
The DPI calculator tells you the largest size your pixels hold up at, checked against every size 4OVER4 prints for that product.
Do you convert my file to CMYK?
No tool here changes your file's colour. The colour converter tells you what a colour becomes in ink, through a real press profile.
The moment before an order
Almost every rejected print file fails on one of four things: it is too low resolution for the size, it is in RGB when the press needs CMYK, it has no bleed, or the text sits where the blade lands. Three of those four are checkable here before anyone uploads anything.
Every number these tools give you is read from the 4OVER4 configurator: the sizes, the bleed, the stocks and their calipers. If a stock is not in the list, we do not print on it.
