Question
Do I need a return address on a postcard?
Answer
For single postcards, USPS does not require a return address, but including one is a smart, low-cost habit. It gives undeliverable cards somewhere to go instead of being discarded. Note that for bulk mailings sent via USPS Marketing Mail, a return address is required.
- Single postcards: a return address is optional.
- Bulk mailings via USPS Marketing Mail: a return address is required.
- Placement: the top-left corner of the address side, above the recipient's address.
- Benefit: undeliverable cards come back to you instead of being thrown away.
- Bonus: a visible return address reinforces your brand and looks more legitimate to recipients.
