What it can do

  • Find print products by category, industry, occasion, finish or material, and compare them side by side.
  • Price any product live: the total and the price per piece for your quantity, size, paper, options and turnaround.
  • Show every quantity price break and the delivery date for your ZIP code.
  • Answer printing questions from the 4OVER4 help and FAQ, and do the file math: DPI, bleed and paper weight.
  • Put your products in a cart that opens on 4OVER4.COM, where you upload artwork, choose shipping and pay.

After you sign in

  • Your orders, with their status, tracking and invoices.
  • Your profile, your saved addresses and your 4OVER4 coins.
  • Your 4OVER4.COM cart.
  • Cancel a job that can still be cancelled, only after you confirm it in the chat.

The assistant never places an order, takes a payment or uploads artwork. You sign in on a 4OVER4.COM page, so the assistant never sees your password. To disconnect, remove 4OVER4 in your assistant's settings.

Technical details

The connector is an MCP server over Streamable HTTP at https://www.4over4.com/appsapi/mcp. Products, prices, templates and printing help need no account or key; account tools use OAuth 2.1 with PKCE.

Errors

Every HTTP error under /appsapi answers application/problem+json (RFC 9457) with a stable code and a hint. Errors inside an MCP or A2A JSON-RPC body stay JSON-RPC errors, and the sign-in endpoints answer OAuth errors.

  • invalid_request (400): Send a body that matches the operation's schema in the OpenAPI description.
  • unauthorized (401): Send valid credentials for this endpoint, or sign in with 4OVER4 again.
  • forbidden (403): This caller may not use this resource. Use your own account or session.
  • not_found (404): Check the path and method against the OpenAPI description.
  • method_not_allowed (405): Use one of the methods in the Allow header.
  • product_retired (410): Pick another product from the catalog at https://www.4over4.com/products.
  • payload_too_large (413): Send a smaller body.
  • rate_limited (429): Wait the seconds in the Retry-After header, then retry. The RateLimit header shows the budget left.
  • upstream_unavailable (502): The 4OVER4 API did not answer. Retry shortly.
  • not_configured (503): This endpoint is not available on this server right now. Retry later.

Rate limits

Requests are rate limited per client. Limited endpoints send RateLimit-Policy and RateLimit headers, and every HTTP 429 sends Retry-After with the seconds to wait.

Deprecation policy

An operation or field that will be removed is first marked deprecated in the OpenAPI description at https://www.4over4.com/openapi.json. From that day its responses carry a Deprecation header (RFC 9745) with the date it was deprecated, a Sunset header (RFC 8594) with the date after which it may stop working, at least 90 days later, and a Link header with rel="deprecation" to the notice. Nothing is removed before its Sunset date. Additions (new operations, new optional fields, new error codes) come without notice, so ignore fields you do not know.
