Question

How do I address a postcard to another country?

Answer

Addressing a postcard to another country follows the same layout as domestic mail, with one important addition: the destination country goes on its own line at the very bottom.

  • Recipient name on the first line.
  • Street address below it, using the local format for that country.
  • City, region, and postal code as required by the destination.
  • Country name in ALL CAPS on the final line, spelled out in full English.

International postage costs more than domestic, so check current USPS rates before you mail. For campaigns that cross borders, a direct-mail postcard keeps your message tangible no matter where it lands.
