Do I need to add bleed to my EDDM postcard file?

Yes, add 0.125" of bleed on all sides of your EDDM postcard file. Bleed gives the trimming process room so you do not end up with thin white edges where the cut lands slightly off.

• Finished size 6.5" x 9" means your design file should measure 6.75" x 9.25".
• Extend backgrounds and images to the full bleed edge, not just to the trim line.
• Keep text and logos at least 0.25" inside the trim so nothing important gets cut off.

Setting up bleed and a safe margin from the start is the easiest way to avoid a reprint over trimmed edges or clipped copy.
