Do I need to send the InDesign file or is a PDF enough for printing?

A properly exported PDF is all you normally need. It carries your fonts, images, and layout in one self-contained file, so the original InDesign document is not required unless production specifically asks for it.

• Export a print-ready PDF with bleed included.
• Confirm fonts are embedded or outlined and images are high resolution.
• Keep the native InDesign file on hand in case a correction is requested later.

Sending the native file only becomes necessary when the production team needs to make edits that cannot be done in the PDF.
