How should I format my booklet file for printing-pages or spreads?

For booklets, you can supply your file in single pages format. The printer handles the imposition, arranging the pages into the correct order for printing and binding.
- Submit the booklet as single pages, in reading order.
- You do not need to build reader or printer spreads yourself.
- Include the front and back covers as their own pages.
- Keep the page count a multiple of 4 for saddle-stitch binding.
Supplying clean single pages lets the printer lay out the spreads correctly for the finished booklet.
Avoid pre-built spreads: imposition software pairs the pages for the press from your page count and binding, so spreads can cause errors. Export one print-ready PDF with every page in sequence, and start from the booklet template for your product if you are unsure.
