Question

What are the dimension requirements for EDDM mailings?

Answer

Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM) pieces have to meet USPS size rules to qualify for the retail rate. Larger flat mailers are the sweet spot, and a common working size is 8.5 x 11 inches. Here are the standard limits to design within.

Dimension	Minimum	Maximum
Height	Over 6.125 in	12 in
Length	Over 11.5 in	15 in
Thickness	0.007 in	0.25 in

Popular EDDM sizes include 6.5 x 9, 8.5 x 11, and 9 x 12 inches.
Leave room for the USPS indicia and address block required on every EDDM piece.
Custom sizes outside these ranges may need a special quote and postage review.

Confirm your exact size, quantity, and stock with an estimator before you finalize the design so the mailer stays within postal specs.
