Question
How do I set up my file for white ink?
Answer
White ink prints from its own spot layer that tells the press where to lay it down, and the position of that layer changes the effect.
- Create a separate spot color layer and name it "White."
- Place the White layer beneath your CMYK artwork to use white as an under-base.
- Place it on top instead if white is a visible design element.
- Keep the White layer as clean shapes so edges register accurately.
- Use a template with the white layer already configured when one is available.
