Do I need white ink for my clear design?

It depends on the look you want. Ink on clear material is translucent by default, so without a white layer behind it your colors let the background show through. A white ink layer acts like a primer that makes colors solid and text readable.

• Skip white ink when you want a see-through, tinted, stained-glass effect.
• Add white ink when you need bright, opaque color or crisp, legible text.
• Selective white lets you keep some areas clear and back others with white in the same design.
• File setup: white is built as its own layer or spot channel so the press knows where to lay it down.
