Question

Does white ink printing cost more than standard CMYK?

Answer

Usually a little more. White ink needs an extra print pass with a specialty ink, which adds to the base cost, but the gap narrows as quantities rise.

The extra white pass carries a small premium over plain CMYK.
Per-unit cost drops significantly at higher quantities.
A double hit for extra opacity can add slightly more.
On dark or clear stock, the visual impact usually justifies the small added cost.
