Setting up an oval die-cut file is about respecting three boundaries: the trim line where the oval is cut, the bleed that extends past it, and the safe zone that keeps your content from being clipped. Start from the template for your specific oval product so those boundaries are already mapped.

• Trim line: the exact oval where the piece is cut to shape.
• Bleed: extend backgrounds and images at least 1/8 inch (0.125") past the trim so no white edges appear after cutting.
• Safe zone: keep all text, logos, and key details roughly 1/8 inch inside the trim line.
• File format: export a print-ready PDF at 300 DPI or higher in CMYK.
