Question
What file specifications should I use for custom event badges?
Answer
For custom event badges, the goal is a file that matches your ordered dimensions exactly so nothing is stretched, cropped, or distorted. Build the artwork to the finished badge size and include every finishing detail in your order notes.
- Match dimensions exactly: for example, a 3" x 5" badge should be designed at 3" x 5". If both cannot be met, state which dimension is fixed (for example width = 3", height flexible).
- Do not stretch or distort the image to force a fit.
- Specify ink coverage such as 4/4 for full color on both sides.
- Note the finishing: paper type, rounded corners, lamination, and any lanyard slots.
