Question
What file dimensions and format do you need for PDF files?
Answer
Set your PDF up at the final product size plus bleed. The document should measure your trim size, with artwork extended beyond it so the trim is clean.
- Build the PDF at final size, then add 0.125" of bleed on each edge.
- Example: a 5" x 7" product is built at 5" x 7" trim with bleed added around it.
- Extend backgrounds and images into the bleed, not just up to the trim line.
- Keep essential text inside the trim area.
