What file format do I need for mailing list uploads?
Answer
Mailing lists are handled as data, separately from your artwork, and 4OVER4 accepts Excel spreadsheets (.xlsx or .xls) so your recipient records import cleanly into a mail run.
- Put each address field in its own column: name, address line 1, address line 2, city, state and ZIP.
- Keep one recipient per row and remove blank rows or merged cells.
- Proofread the addresses, since they print exactly as entered.
- If you email the list to support, put your order number in the subject line.
- If your list is in another format or you see a "file format not supported" error, ask support for the correct template and paste your data into it.
Clean, column-separated data means fewer bounced pieces and a mailing that stays on schedule.
CSV (comma delimited) and TXT (ASCII text) files are accepted too, though Excel is recommended for the cleanest import. Label each column clearly so the addresses map correctly.
