Question

What should I do if I uploaded the wrong file to my proof?

Answer

If the wrong file ended up on your proof, you can swap it out yourself without a phone call.

  • Reject the proof in your account and upload the correct file; there is no need to cancel the order or delete the wrong file.
  • The file rep only reviews the last file uploaded, so your newest version is the one that counts, and old versions or extra files are set aside automatically.
  • You do not need to notify anyone. The file rep is automatically alerted when the new file arrives.
  • Add any special printing instructions to the order notes with your corrected file so they carry through to production.

New proofs are posted from your corrected file, and your job stays on hold until the new file passes technical review and you approve. Act quickly though, because once an order is in production a file change may no longer be possible. If the correction changes the specs, such as going from one-sided to two-sided printing, the price may be adjusted to match. Prefer a hand? Contact support with your order number and the correct file attached, state clearly that it replaces the wrong version, and they will make the swap for you.
