My online proof doesn't match the file I uploaded. What should I do?
An online proof will not always be a perfect color match to your original file, because on screen proofs have color rendering limits and are meant to confirm layout and content rather than exact color. If something genuinely looks wrong or does not match, do not approve it.
- Log into your 4OVER4 account and click the order number to open your proofs, then click Reject Proofs and add a comment describing exactly what looks off.
- The file rep reviews your comment and posts a new proof. Your job stays on hold until you approve the corrected version, so nothing prints in the meantime.
- You do not need to re-upload your artwork unless the file rep specifically asks for it. If you do upload a corrected file, only the most recent upload is reviewed, so make your final upload the right one.
- If the proof still does not match, contact support with your order number and describe the mismatch so a file representative can investigate and repost correct proofs.
If precise color is critical to your job, mention that in your comments so the team can advise on the best way to confirm it before printing. Reviewing carefully at the proof stage is the best way to catch mismatches before the job prints.
