Answer
For crisp, accurate wine labels, set your artwork to at least 300 DPI resolution and CMYK color mode. Because labels are read up close, anything lower shows soft edges and pixelation.
- Resolution: 300 DPI minimum at the final print size keeps type and artwork sharp.
- Color mode: CMYK matches the printing process, while RGB has a wider gamut and can print muted or shifted.
- Convert early: Switch to CMYK at the start of design so you see realistic color as you work.
- Bleed and safety: Extend art past the trim and keep key text inside the safe zone.
