Question

What file size do I need for a 5" x 7" greeting card?

Answer

Set up your artwork with bleed and the right resolution so nothing important gets trimmed. For a flat 5" x 7" greeting card, the file specs are straightforward.

Document size: 10.25" x 7.25" (the 10" x 7" flat size plus 0.125" bleed on all four sides).
Resolution: 300 DPI.
Color mode: CMYK.
Safe zone: keep text and logos at least 0.125" inside the trim line.

Following these settings keeps colors accurate and prevents your message from being cut off during finishing.
