Question
What is the process for scoring and folding, and can I do it myself?
Answer
You can order pieces either scored and folded for you, or flat and unscored so you can fold them yourself. Scoring presses a crease into the stock first so thicker paper folds cleanly without cracking along the fold, which is why heavier pieces are almost always scored before folding.
- Scored and folded: the piece arrives creased and folded to size, ready to use.
- Flat and unscored: order flat sheets if you prefer to fold in-house or need them shipped unfolded.
- Custom dimensions: scoring and folding to a nonstandard size may add a charge, so state your exact fold layout.
- How to specify: tell the team whether you want flat, or scored to size and folded, when you order or request a quote.
