Question
Do you print in CMYK or PMS spot colors?
Answer
4OVER4 prints in full-color process (CMYK) by default, which covers most jobs and drives the live pricing you see as you build an order. A PMS Pantone spot ink is not an online option; it can be quoted as a custom job, priced separately.
| Option | Best for | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| CMYK (four color) | Most full-color jobs | Standard, live pricing as you build |
| PMS Pantone spot | Exact brand color matching | Custom quote only, pricing varies |
| Specialty inks | Metallic or other effects | Product dependent |
- On online orders, named Pantone colors in your artwork are converted to their nearest CMYK match, not mixed as spot inks.
- Expect slight shifts: the final color may differ a little from the exact PMS specification.
- If brand color is critical, build files in CMYK and review a proof before the run, or share the PMS value and ask support which option fits your product.
Availability and turnaround can change, so confirm current details on the product page or with 4OVER4 support.
