Question
What happens if my artwork file is very large in file size?
Answer
Large file sizes are common with high-resolution images and multi-page layouts such as booklets, and an oversized file can be slow to upload or process. You can usually bring the size down without hurting print quality.
- Downsample images to around 300 DPI at final size. Higher than that adds file weight without improving the print.
- Export a press-ready PDF with image compression enabled instead of embedding raw full-resolution photos.
- Flatten unused layers and remove hidden or off-page objects.
- For multi-page documents, check that each page uses optimized images rather than one huge original repeated.
If the file is still too large after optimizing, contact support for guidance on preparing it for upload.
