Bleed, trim, and safety are the three zones every print file is built around. Understanding them prevents white edges and cut-off text.

| Bleed | Extra artwork extended past the trim so no white shows if the cut shifts. |
| Trim | The final cut line, the actual finished size of the piece. |
| Safety | An inner margin where all important text and logos should stay. |
- Extend backgrounds fully into the bleed area.
- Keep text and logos inside the safety margin, away from the trim.
