Question

Do I need to add extra bleed to my canvas designs?

Answer

Yes. Canvas prints need bleed just like any edge-to-edge product. Bleed is the extra image area that extends past the final trim line so there are no white slivers after cutting.

  • Standard bleed: 0.125 inches (1/8 inch) on every side.
  • Extend your background all the way into the bleed zone, not just up to the trim line.
  • Keep text and logos at least 0.125 inches inside the trim to stay clear of the edge.
  • For gallery-wrapped canvas, plan extra image on each side to wrap around the frame bars.

Templates with bleed guides built in take the guesswork out of setup.
